We are a Revolutionary War reenactment group based in Boston MA,
accurately portraying the royal household regiment that is now known as
The Grenadier Guards

 

Ranks within a Line Regiment
The Guards differed from this pattern.

The typical organization of a line regiment of 
477 men in 1775 was:

Field & Staff Officers

Colonel

Lieutenant Colonel

Chaplain

Adjutant

Surgeon and Mate

 

Battalion Company
of which there were normally eight within a regiment

Captain

2 Lieutenants

2 Serjeants

3 Corporals

1 Drummer

38 Private Soldiers

 

Grenadier Company
of which there was one to a regiment

Captain

2 Lieutenants

2 Serjeants

3 Corporals

2 Fifers

38 Private Soldiers

 

Light Infantry Company
of which there was one to a regiment

Captain

2 Lieutenants

2 Serjeants

3 Corporals

1 Drummer

38 Private Soldiers
