We are a Revolutionary War reenactment group based in Boston MA,
accurately portraying the royal household regiment that is now known as
The Grenadier Guards

 


Organization of a typical Line Regiment
The organization of Guards regiments differed.


The typical organization of a Line regiment of 477 men in 1775 was:

Field & Staff Officers
Colonel
Lieutenant Colonel
Chaplain
Adjutant
Surgeon and Mate

Battalion Company
of which there were normally eight
Captain
2 Lieutenants
2 Serjeants
3 Corporals
1 Drummer
38 Private Soldiers

Grenadier Company
of which there was one
Captain
2 Lieutenants
2 Serjeants
3 Corporals
2 Fifers
38 Private Soldiers

Light Infantry Company 
of which there was one
Captain
2 Lieutenants
2 Serjeants
3 Corporals
1 Drummer
38 Private Soldiers

Each of the three types of company was distinguished by its distinctive uniform.
